The Mission
National statistics indicate that in the Tri-state area, every third household is impacted by the disease and consequences of alcoholism or other addictive/compulsive disorders. Research shows that the number of those afflicted with the disease of addiction continues to increase. So then does the need for treatment. So do the countless tragedies of addictive illness. It has been well documented that those who grow up in a home where active addiction is present are much more likely to develop addiction or other behavioral health diseases of their own.
Radio Recovery’s Mission is to bring recovery's message of hope to all who suffer from a behavioral health condition(s) as well as to those who love and care for the sufferers. Radio Recovery is first and foremost for the still sick and suffering. It provides for them a non-threatening way to listen and identify to the story of others who have walked the proverbial mile in there shoes.  Since "keeping it green" is key to the one-day-at-a-time recovery process, the show is equally helpful to those already in recovery. Listeners of the show include family members and loved ones of the still sick & suffering as well as those in recovery. The feedback from family consistently mentions that our show has helped them understand their loved one’s disease, as well as how to be appropriately helpful in their healing process.
